Orders for papers may also be left with theta. SWIMMING CARNIVAL. Jan. 19. The Stratford Swimming Club held a big swimming carnival at the school baths to-day, programmes being put on both in the afternoon and evening. The afternoon programme was arranged chiefly for the benefit of the school children, and though the entries in the children’s events were disappointing, a good afternoon’s sport was provided. Mr. J. W. Boon, chairman of the Schoo) Committee, in opening the carnival, thanked the club for its efforts in improving the school baths, and referred to the great benefit of swimming to school children. The following are the results of the afternoon’s events:—
