PAYMENTS NEXT MONTH. THE FIVE PER CENT. REBATE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Intimation is published in to-night’s Gazette that income tax payments are due on February 7 and that if they are outstanding after February 28 an additional tax will accrue. The liability to pay, it is pointed out, is not suspended by any objection; the tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise an additional percentage accrues. Any over-payment will be adjusted by a refund. Demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about January 31. The demands must be presented with all payments. If a demand has not been received the Commissioner should be communicated with.
