THE HOSPITAL BILL.

. PROPOSALS CRITICISED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Invercargill, Jan. 18. There is profound dissatisfaction among local medical men with the proposed Hospitals Bill. They suggest that it be referred to the medical conference at Wellington at the end of February. The arbitrary clauses imposing duties on medical men are considered impracticable. The new regulations and increased fees threaten to abolish small maternity homes, a standby for poorer people. They declared the Bill will destroy the cordial co-op-eration between doctors and the department, which is essential to tse public health.
