SEAMEN'S WAGES.

MEN ADHERE TO AGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 18. The executive of the Seamen’s Federation met yesterday to consider a letter from the Shipowners’ Federation asking it not to enforce clause 43 of the agreement in respect to increased wages in conformity with the recent Australian advance. The executive decided it could nor see its way to abrogate or. set aside any matter in agreement, whether for or" against the seamen’s organisation. The executive therefore cannot see its way to accede to the shipowners’ request. Shipbwners have been asked to direct all boats to pay the increased scale as from December 21 last.
