THE RUGBY GAME. FRENCH VISIT ARRANGED. ■ TOUR NEXT SEASON. Mr. Jas. McLeod, president of the New Zealand Rugby Union, has received advice from the Wellington officials of the union that the visit of the French team to New Zealand during the next season has been definitely arranged. No details are at present available, though the negotiations have been carried on on the basis of the team sailing from England approximately at the middle of April, and travelling via the Panama Canal. The tour will include 20 matches, three of which will be tests in New Zealand. Some o> tne 20 matches may be played in New South Wales, who are also negotiating to participate in the tour. A Wellington Press telegram confirms the above, saying that the French Rugby Union has accepted the New Zealand Union’s terms and a team will tour New Zealand this year. It will consist of 29 men, who will leave Southampton by the Ruahine in the middle of April, arriving at the beginning of June. They will be under the charge of Mr.' Rutherford, an Englishman who is secretary of the French Union. The tour will be under the sole direction of the New Zealand Union. THE LEAGUE GAME.
