Lord Carson, speaking at the Conservative Club, Canterbury, referred to the; Irish treaty, which he eaid they had ■ been told would bring peace in Irelaad. What this peace meant they had seek’ in the last few weeks in the Irish Parliament—it was a peace that snrpaeseth all understanding. They had been asked to truet the« Coalition Government. He did not nad: would not, and he would advise them not to. There was no Coalition Government; there was a Lloyd Georgian Government, and nothing else. It wwsj always the same when one man stead, out in courage and ability above aH< others; he swallowed the others.
