DELAYS REPEATED YESTERDAY. LONG TASK TO REPAIR BRIDGE. The train eerviee between Taranaki and south of Patea was ajaiit diaorganhed y*» terday, owing to the accident to the Whennakura bridge. A message from Wanganui aays it is anticipated that at least a woek ot ten davs will elapse before- the railway traffic over the Whenuakura bridge will • be resumed, the department having practically to renew the structure. t The train from Wanganui due at Ne* Plymouth at 4 o’clock yesterday afternooi arrived at 5.25 p.m., and the mail train arrived at 9.22 p.m., one hour and twelve minutes late. The passengers, luggage and mails were transhipped by motor cars plying between Patea and' .Waverley*, the charge covering the gap falling on travellers, involving an increase of up' to 7s 6d in their expenses. All mail matter is coming through except parcels.
