PRINCESS MARY.

NEW ZEALAND’S INTEREST. VARIOUS WEDDING GIFTS By Telegraph—Press AssoclatJon. Wellington, Last Night. In connection with the marriage of Princess Mary next month, two funds for subscriptions for wedding prerente have already been opened in New Zealand; one for the Marys of the Empire, and the other for ex-V.A.D.’s. These are both Empire funds. There has also been a very strong desire expressed that the women of New Zealand should in addition contribute a gift of their own, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, in order • to ascertain how general was the wish, communicated with the Mayors of cities j and the principal boroughs in the Dominion. As the result of replies received he has decided to offer the opportunity desired, and has circularised the Mayors of cities and boroughs and the chairman of county councils and town boards asking them to open shilling subscription lists, which will close on Fe 6--ruary I’l. The money will be forwarded through the Bank of New Zealand branches tof the Under-Secretary for Internal Af-. fairs, and when the total amount is, ascertained the form this wedding present (exclusively from the women of New Zealand) shall take will be decided upon. It is desired, of course, that the gift shall not affect subscriptions to other funds.
