BOLSHEVISM DEAD.
END OF. NIGHTMARE.. . RUSSIA’S NEW POLICY. CAPITALIST REGIME. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.— Copyright. Received Jan. 11, 7.30 p.m. London, Jan. 11. The Morning Post’s Paris correspondent states that investigations of thoroughly trustworthy Russian sources show that before Mr. Lloyd George left for Cannes he had been informed by the Soviet Government that they were now prepared, in view of the desperate condition of Russia, to abandon all pretence at enforcing Communism, and they will place the industrial possibilities' of Russia under a capitalist regime. This will be done on condition that France and Britain recognise the Russian Government and resume normal trade relations, including the arranging of a large international loan for Russia’s benefit. In return the Soviet will recognise all Russian debts incurred under the Czarist regime. Lenin is prepared to “throw up the sponge,” and the long nightmare of Bolshevism is ended. —Aus.-N.Z.
