LESS WAGES RESENTED. By Telegraph—Pretn Association Hastings, Last Night. At a meeting of the Hastings branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association the following motions were carried unanimously:

(1) That if the precedent of requiring State Departments to furnish financial balance-sheets is to be made permanent, in accordance with the demands made by commercial and farming bodies, then we request that the functions of every State service be reviewed and placed on a paying basis, or where deemed necessary subsidisation in the interests of the development in every such case should be a burden on the consolidated ■fund* (2) That this section calls upon the executive strongly to oppose any reduction in salaries, which would impose unfair special taxation on us as workers, while not being uniformly shared by all members of the community, while we can point to the remission of taxes toothers above the bread and butter line of living, and until the legislation or the country provides specially for the rearing of families we will strenuously oppose any political move to impose fiat rate adjustments which do not take into consideration the family responsibilities Qi these fioncernedr
