POSITION GREATLY CLEARED. GOOD SALES IN ENGLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. London, Jan. 10. The Australian Press agent understands that the butter position has greatly cleared. Low retail prices caused such a strong ormand. that the Board of Trade sold half a million boxes of Government stocks since the beginning of the year, including 300,000 New Zealand, which was entirely cleared. The remainder of Government stocks consist of about 300,000 boxes of Australian of poorer quality.

THE LONDON MARKET. THE LATEST QUOTATIONS. The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office under date January 9:—Butter market steady. Current quotation, 128 s, 130 s per cwt.
