PERSONALS. Mrs. Lewis has returned to Wanganui. * * • • Mrs. Guy Shaw returns to Thames early next week. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Bayly returned to Auckland on Wednesday. Mrs. Skinner and Miss Devenish left Nev/ Plymouth on Thursday, en route for England by the lonic. Mrs. Harry Fookes returns from Wanganui to-night. Miss Hungerford, who has been the guest of Miss Agnes Wilson, returns to Wellington to-day. Mrs. Gilray, senior, returns to Dunedin on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lance Steadman (Palmerston North) have taken a cottage at Ngamotu beach for the holidays. ♦ * * • Miss Haye (Wanganui) is staying with her neice, Miss Bessie Bayly. • • * • Miss Farmer, who has recently returned from England, is the guest of Miss Emily Rawson. Miss E. Good (Hawera) is staying with her sister, Mrs. Foyster. * “ • • Mrs. Peek, fo Wanganui, is visiting New Plymouth.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Burden and family, of Blenheim, are the guests of Mrs. Pane at her house at Ngamotu.
Mrs. and Miss Cooper, of Wanganui, are visitors here. • Miss Rockel (Wanganui) is the guest of Mrs. Campbell.
Mrs. Courtney gave a most enjoyable “farewell” afternoon tea on Monday for Mrs. W. H. Skinner and Miss Devenish.
Miss Agnes Wilson left this morning for Christchurch.
Mrs. W. Tonks and Mrs. Woodward have returned to Hawera.
Miss E. Dowling returns to-night from a visit to Wanganui and Hawera. Mrs. R. Davies (England) and Miss Eileen Davies are the guests of Mrs. Sladden.
Mrs. P. S. Whitcombe left this morning for a trip to Wellington and Otane, where she will be the guest of Mrs. Tod.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Williams have returned to Wanganui.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Millar and family are spending a week or two at the Mountain House.
Mr. and Mrs. T. Thompson, of Omata, arrived by the Rarawa yesterday morning, after spending their honeymoon in Auckland.
Mrs. John Thprkleson has left for Australia.
Mrs. Lawrence Wells, of Te Awamutu, is on a visit to her mother, Mrs. Joseph. Miss McFarlane, of I'apakura, is also visiting Mrs. Joseph.
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Wood gave a most delightful dance at the East End pavilion last Thursday to celebrate the debut of their daughter, Kitty. The hall was beautifully decorated with huge bowls of sweet peas and hollyhocks, the supper table also being decorated with sweet peas. Mrs. Wood received her guests in a charming frock of black taffeta, and Miss Wood looked very pretty in a dainty frock of white georgette with silver fringe and girdle, and carried a bouquet of white and pink flowers.
