BOXING.
CARPENTIER v. COOK. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. London, Jan. 4. Boxing has been excluded from Carpentier’s training because he is suffering from a boil on the cheek, otherwise he is in the fittest condition. Critics who visited his headquarters enthusiastically describe his thorough scientific training, and some opine that his hitting and footwork are superior to Cook’s, but all agree that Cook is likely to extend the Frenchman more than any previous British opponent has done.
