FOUR SHOPS GUTTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Jan. 1 4. A fire A shortly after midnight, gutted four shops, the property of Henry Doreen, in Main Street West, occupied by Gray (butcher), Ricketts (tobacconist), Wong Chung (fruiterer), and Joe .ueo (laundry). The contents were destroyed and the occupants were heavy losers. The lire insurances on the four shops amounted to £ 1000. Ricketts’ stock was insured for £2OO and Won Chung’s for £175.
