NEW YEAR TOURNAMENT. YESTERDAY’S PLAY. The New Year local tournament held by the Taranaki Bowling Centre was commenced yesterday on the New Plymouth, Fitzroy and West End greens. There were twenty-four entries and four rounds each of sixteen heads were got off. In some cases greens were sli/htly heavy after the rains, but improved with the day. The fifth round will be played this morning and the semi-finals and finals will be held on the West End green this afternon. Details of yesterday’s games are: SECTION A.
