MELBOURNE TRAGEDY.
MURDER OF LITTLE GIRL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlgtt. Received January 1, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, Dec. 31. The naked body of a girl named Alma Tirecke, aged twelve, was found in a lane off Little Collins Street, bearing evidence that she had been outraged and strangled to death, and the body subsequently carried into the lane. The girl was sent on an errand from Jolunout yesterday afternoon, and, failing to reach her destihation, she was reported missing. The police have no clue as to the place where the murder was committed, or the perpetrator.
