WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP. NEXT WEEK’S RACE. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wanganui, Last Night. The race for the world’s sculling championship, to be rowed on the Wanganui river on January 5, is creating keen interest. Both Arnst and Hadfield are reported to be in the pink o-t condition, and a desperate struggle is predicted. The champion and the challenger are on the river tw’ice daily. Arnst is training without a pace-maker, but is covering the course in fast time. Hadfield is reported to have done trials which have made his supporters very sanguine.
