SCULLING.
ARNST v. HADFIELD. FINAL DEPOSITS PAID. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Dec. 29. The final deposits of £lOO a side were put up at the Herald office this morning in connection with the sculling championship. Hadfield’s was paid in by one of his supporters, while Arnst cycled down from his camp and paid in his own cheque. The champion is looking fit, and did a fast 2A miles row yesterday. This afternoon he intends to take it easy. The supporters of Hadfield are very confident, but the balance of opinion here seems to be in favor of Arnst.
