PARLIAMENT PROROGUED. By Telegraph.—l’r*ss Assn —voD'right. Sydney, Dec. 24. Mr. W. Killeen, presid*ent of the Farmers’ and Settlers’ Association, stated that numerous letters and telegrams have been received from branches and members disapproving the coalition of Progressives and Nationalists, as such action would play into the hands of extremists, and as voters desiring a mid-course between Nationalists and Progressives were now driven to abstain from voting. Mr. Bagnall has been re-admitted to the National Party. In a letter to Sir G. Fuller he stated that he acted in the best interests of the State, but upon mature reflection he saw that his action was prejudicial to those interests. He admits it was an error of judgment, and expressed sincere regret. He adds an assurance of loyal support in future.
The Assembly, after an all-night sitting, adjourned till January 3, when Parliament will be prorogued. The Estimates, Appropriation Bill. Loan Estimates, and Loan Authorisation Bill were passed. Ex-Senators McDougall and Grant., and Mr. McGirr, Legislative Councillor, have been selected as Labor candidates for the next Senate election.
