Wellington, Dec. 21. consequent on the retirement of Commissioner O’Donovan from the police force at the end of December the following promotions and transfers have been made: Superintendent Wright, Auckland, promoted to Commissioner, and takes up duties on January 1, 1922. Superintendent Hendry, Christchurch, succeeds Superintendent Weight at Auckland. Inspector Sheenhan, Hamilton, promoted superintendent, succeeds Superintendent Hendry at Christchurch. Inspector Wohlman, Commissioner of Police at Samoa, succeeds Inspector Sheehan at Hamilton. Superintendent Cruickshanks succeeds Inspector Wohlman as Commissioner of Police at Samoa. Sub-Inspector Willis, Dunedin, recently of Wellington, has been promoted inspector, and succeeds Inspector Hastie (retired) at Timaru. Senior-Sergeant Eccles, Invercargill, promoted sub-inspect or, succeeds SubInspector Willis at Dunedin. Sergeant Scandrett. South Dunedin, promoted senior-svrgeant, succeeds Senior-Sergeant Eccles,. Invercargill. Senior-Sergeant Kelly, Christchurch, transferred to Wellington. Senior-Sergeant Lewin, Dunedin, transferred to Christchurch in place of Senior-Sergeant Kelly. Sergeant Mathieson. Gore, promoted senior-sergeant, succeeds Senior-Sergeant Lewis, Dunedin. Sergeant Boulton, Dunedin, transferred to Gore in place of Sergeant Mathieson.
