SWIMMING.
THE NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A meeting of the New Plymouth Swimming Club was held last night, Mr. F. J. Eggleton presiding. Mr. K. Stohr was appointed secretary. The chairman and Messrs. Stohr and Shearer were appointed to interview the town manager regarding the allocation of trophies won in connection with the last tournament. Tickets for members!'ip are to be secured, and members of the club are to make an effort to enrol further supporters. The secretary was authorised to remit affiliation fees to the Wanganui and New Zealand centres. It was decided to communicate with the New Zealand Centre at Christchurch asking for approval of the proposal to form a Taranaki Centre, and inquiries will also he made with a view to securing a visit from Keloaha, the Hawaiian swimmer, who holds tie record of being the world’s champion back-stroke performer. He is to give exhibitions throughout New Zealand, and it is stated will attend a Wanganui carnival in January.
