Mr. Hs H. Brown, of Wanganui, has been appointed organiser for the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Officers’ Institute. He will take up his duties in Wellington next month. Mr. Arthur Ward, manager of the Palmerston North branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has been promoted to be manager of the firm’s Hamilton branch. A London message says that it is learned on good authority that Princess Mary’s wedding will take place in the last week in February. It is expected that the marriage will take place in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor.
The death occurred at the Nelson Hospital on December 3 of Mr. Julius Adolph Hansen, of Washington Valley. Deceased, who was 75 years of age, was a native of Denmark, and came out to New Zealand many years ago in the ship Michael Angelo.
The sudden death occurred in a Wanganui draper’s shop on Thursday morning of Mr. Edward Munro Menzies, who collapsed when making a purchase. The deceased, who was 72 years of age, occupied several important positions as a teacher until he retired.
