FIRE AT MANAIA.

SEVEN-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. At about 1.40 yesterday morning a seven-roomed house belonging to Mr. B. Shaw at Manaia was completely destroyed by fire. The fire brigade, under Captain White, were promptly on the scene, but as the fire was about half a mile from the town it had a good hold before the brigade arrived. The brigade worked hard and saved two outhouses adjoining the residence. The house was insured for £6OO and the furniture for £2OO in the New Zealand Fire Insurance Company. Mr. Shaw Jias suffered a big loss, as nothing was saved, says the Star.
