THE NGAERE LEASES.

THE QUESTION OF RENTAL. ’ On behalf of Mr. John Butler (Toko), Messrs. Spence, Rutherfurd, Maealister, and Colemgn, Stratford, wrote to the New Plymouth Borougli Council last night asking for a reconsideration of the rental for the 'land leased by Mr. Butler. The property is situated next to Mr. G. Sangster’s farm, the rental of which was recently reviewed, and it was contended Butler’s farm was no better if as good as Sangster’s, though a higher rental was being paid for it. The general manager reported that he had intimated that the council did not propose to review the rental. He understood from another tenant that a petition to the council was being prepared asking for reconsideration of rentals.
