Some 400 or 500 people took part in an Anglican demonstration held tonight as a protest • against the provisions of the. mu& discussed Divorce Amendment Act passed last year. Bishop Julius was the principal speaker. The following motion was carried: — “That this meeting of Christchurch citizens calls upon Parliament to repea) sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1020, on the ground that the increased facilities for divorce thereby afforded are a menace to the home life of the people and to the true well-being of the community.’’ The motion was seconded by Mrs. W. G. Roberts, president of the Mothers* Union of the diocese.
