The president of the Burnley District Sunday School Union, replying to the Lancashire Football Association’s assertion that nearly 60 per cent, of the total of 665 footballers ordered off the field for using bad language belong to Sunday school clubs, states that many clever footballers join Sunday schools in order to qualify as focJballers, and Were often selected regardless of their conduct and reputation.
