STRATFORD DEFEAT INGLEWOOD. Playing on the Stratford green on Thursday Stratford defeated Inglewood by 136 to 69. NEW YEAR TOURNAMENT. The Taranaki Bowling Centre will hold New Year tournament as usual on the New Plymouth, West End and Fitzroy greens <>n January 2 and 3. Entries are confined to members of clubs affiliated to the Taranaki Centre. Section games will be of 16 heads and semi-finals and final 21 heads. Sections will have to be won outright, an extra seven heads being played in case of ties. Play will commence at 9 a.m. eacl: day. The entry fee will be 16s per rink. Trophies will be awarded winners and runners-up. Entries will close with tiie secretaries to the centre (Messrs. A. T. Moore and F. J. Hill) at 8.30 p.m. on December 22.
