At the tallow auctions 2051 casks were offered and 240 sold at 2s to 5s decline, compared with November 11; fine mutton 46s per cwt., medium 40s, fine beef 455, medium 40s. FOREIGN EXCHANGE. Received Dec. 8, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 7. Exchange rates are: Berlin 845 marks to the £1; New York, 4.09 dollars. THE WOOL MARKET. LONDON MIXED SALE. Received Dec. 8, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 7. At the mixed wool sale there was brisk competition for both merinos and crossbreds, Yorkshire and French buyers taking the former at full ra_tes. There was a keen demand for medium and low crossbreds, Germany taking some. DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date December 6: — "Butter: Market weak and dull.
