AN AIRMAN’S EXPLANATION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrigt i. Received Dec. 8, 5.5 pan. Perth, Dec. S. Major Brearley suggests that Fawcett endeavored to land on tricky ground surrounded by tall gum trees. The machine stalled and the height was too low for recovery. The Acting-Minister of Defence (General Ryrie) explained that the aerial disaster was not due to faulty landing places, as two other machines bad already landed safely.
