A LARGE PROFIT MADE. LOANS TO UNIONS. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Since the tour of the South Africans ap plications have been made by rugby unioni to the management committee of the Nev. Zealand Rugby Union for loans. From s notification received by the Wellingtor Rugby Union it js apparent that the parent body has a considerable sum in hand, although no definite announcement has yel been made regarding the financial result of the Springboks’ tour, excepting a report that it was in the vicinity of £lO,OOO. The Wellington Union was informed that the New Zealand Rugby Union was prepared to lend that body the sum of £2250 at per cent., but consideration of the matter was held over until a later date. The New Zealand Rugby Union is still occupied in checking accounts in connection with the tour.
