WEST END GALA DAY.

TO-MORROWS FUNCTION. AH that is now required to ensure the complete success of the West End Gala Day to be held at Kawaroa Park tomorrow is fine weather,, and indications point at present to the clerk of the weather lending his assistance in that direction. The preparation of the ground and stalls for the various competitions, side-sho-ws and displays is in the hands of the Kawaroa Park Committee, and will be carried out with the thoroughness that has terAled to make their efforts in transforming the park into its present state of beauty so successful. The replenishing of the stalls has been left to the West End Schoo], and parents, teachers and scholars alike are taking a keen interest in seeing that they are replete with the hundred and one reasonable aricles that will find a ready sale. The children have rehearsed their spectacular displays, and those who were fortunate enough to witness them assure us that there is a treat in store for spectators. Exhibitions by Boy Scouts always appeal, and those on Saturday are said to be something special. The catering, etc... is again in the hands of the Kawaroa Park ladies, whilst the music is in the hands of the Wellington Military Band. The various competitions are bound to exc to keen interest, particularly that in which the prize is the walking doll, to see which is to desire. The spectacular items will be over in time to enable country visitors to catch the afternoon train, so that they can he assured of an enjoyable afternoon at the seaside in surroundings that it would be difficult t<jtsurpass anywhere.
