CORRESPONDENCE.

A REFUTAL. (To the Editor.) Sir, —Will you kindly allow me space to correct a statement which is being circulated in connection with the memorial in this, and the neighboring districts, to the effect that tie name of a resident’s son has been maliciously or purposely omitted from the unemorial. On behalf of the committee, I beg to state that the names were sent in by me in alphabetical order to the mason in charge of the work, and the name of Sergeant William Guild was second on the list.—l am, etc., E. A. MATHEWS. Pungarehu, December 6.
