BOXING.
THE INGLEWOOD TOURNAMENT. NEXT WEEK’S FIGHTS. A meeting was held at Inglewood last night to make final arrangements in connection with the boxing tournament whicn is to be held at Inglewood on Thursday evening next. Mr. E. Whittle, chairman of the Taranaki Boxing Association, preside* and there were present several members of the committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association, as well as a good attendance of the Inglewood sub-com-It was stated that the articles for the professional bout between A. Greaves and J. Graham had been signed and returned, and notification had been received that Greaves woulf arrive in New Plymouth on Friday morning. Gr&ves also asked to be provided with sparring partners.—lt was decided that the contestants remain at Inglewood from Saturday morning until after the fight. In the heavy-weight amateur contest it was resolved to endeavor to match Scott, of Tarata, and Tuku, of New Plymouth. It was reported that gold medals had oeen donated by Messrs. C. O’Carroll, A. Lile, A. Lealand, E. Saunders, W. Eagar, and A. 1. It was resolved to ask the Mayor of Inglewood to open the tourniument. ° A hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Eagar for the use of the room and to the chairman concluded the meeting.
