There was a poor selection of merinos, and prices were slightly harder. Crossbreds maintained full late rates. Lower sorts were distinctly harder, the home trade being the chief buyers. A FLOUR DEAL. Received Dec. 7, 5.5 p.in. • Capetown, Dec. 6. Mr. Rooth, chairman of Committees in the Assembly, who has just returned from England, where he interviewed the Australian Premier on the question of damaged flour, said the interview was entirely satisfactory. Mr. Hughes promised to go thoroughly into the matter and fully support the proposal for the payment of damages if the complaints were well founded. The agreement had yet to be laid before the Australian Parliament. The big st»m of £600,000 with interest was involved, but South Africans /could rest assured the matter would be all right.—-Aus.-N.Z.
