The Telegraph, *n a special article on wanderinv criminals, advocates recip roeitv between Australia and New Zealand,’ with the object of acquainting the police authorities of each country when undesirables are paying visits, and recommends the interchange of detectives with the Australasian capitals with a view of identifying the chief criminals. The article states that New Zealand has a habit of letting her criminals out tn the country, although heavy sentences are recorded, but a board there may revise a sentence and release the prisones if he undertakes a sea voyage, whieh mostly terminates m Sydney. The local police are ignorant until the newcomer brings off a new job. The Xew Zealand criminal is as good as there are made, and there is quite a good stock on hand.
