The Morning Post’s Constantinople correspondent reports a Bolshevik coup abolishing, by a decree, the independence of the three States of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, and constituting them a Federal Union under Russian control, the political centre to be at Baku, and the economic centre at Tiflis. All the Federal Government institutions will be under the control of Russian Soviets. The object is to strengthen the hold on the threshold or t-.e Orient. Kemalist Turkey has promised military support in the event of a revolt. The Soviet has also strengthened its Caucasian armies and executed eightytwo Nationalists, who were likely to 'oppose the coup. Further effective resistance is unlikely.
