PERSONAL.
Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon, M.P., arrived in New Plymouth on Saturday night. Mr. S. G. Smith. M.P., is spending the week-end in New Plymouth. The death occurred at Auckland a few days ago, of Mr. J. T. Reid., chief warder at the Mount Eden Prison. Mr. A. H. Kimbell, Under-Secretary for Mines, is expected in New) Plymouth to-day on departmental business. Mr. H. Atmore, M.P. for Nelson, is spending the week-end in the Eltham district. Air 0. Hawken, M.P. for Egmont, and Mr. E. Dixon, M.P. for Patea, arrived in Taranaki on Saturday night for the week-end. Mr, Duncan Matheson, Captain of Detectives, who is figuring prominently m the Sonoma robbery case, was at one time a sailor on vessels trading on the New Zealand coast. Mr. William Kennedy, of Wanganui, passed away on Friday at the age of 75 years. The deceased is survived by one son and two daughters —Mr. WiMiam Kennedy, Miss Kennedy and Mrs. T. P. Souter.
