GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL.

THE BOARDING HOUSE FUND. MART DAY REALISES £llO. A mart held on Saturday aftern’oon in aid of the funds for th’e building of a boarding house at the Girls' High Scl/001, New Plymouth, resulted in the sum of £llo' being netted. The committee in charge was comprised of mothers of pupils, and stalls of every description were well stocked. There was a large number of shoppers at the mart throughout the day. Mrs. A. M. Mac Diarmid was at the head of the management, and Mrs. Alleman made an efficient secretary. The ladies in charge of the various stalls were:— Sewing.—Mesdames Fitzherbert, H. Fookes, Cruickshank, Greatbatch and Bullock. Meat. —Mesdames Sumner and Bell, Mr. Honeyfield. Sweets, —Mesdames Lysons and Mason. 'Flowers. —Mrs. List. Cakes. —Mesdames Perrott, Medley and Washer. Christmas Tree. —Mesdames Harrison, Waters, Waterson, Blundell and A. M. Mac Diarmid. Baskets. —High School girls. Afternoon T££^— Mrs. Day and assistants. Competitions. —-Mrs. Willis. The winners of the various -Competitions were: —Doll, Mrs. E. M. Pearce; kewpie, Miss Alleman r turkey, Mrs. Medley; ham, Mrs. Brooker; forequarter of mutton, Archdeaxjon Evans; set of tools, P. Pope; goose, Mrs. Fox; blouse, No. 49; forequarter of mutton, Mrs. Perrott.
