INGLEWOOD.
MATINEE CONCERT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) December 1. The weather to-day could not have been more suitable for the concert which many had been looking forward to with pleasurable anticipations, and surely no one luid cause of complaint. A very good attendance, which should mean fiancial satisfaction to the promoters; , a good programme, carried through in excellent style, promptly and without a single hitch, the items delightfully executed ought to content the public; an attentive and appreciative audience could hardly fail to give pleasure to those in turn who had already pleased their hearers. Where all did so well it is difficult to particularise with praise, but it is safe to say that the items by the children gave pleasure to all. “Dolly and the Stars” was specially very pleasing. The programme was long, but so well was everything managed that item followed item without appreciable delay, and though two o’clock had passed before a start was made it was but little after four when the curtain was finally lowered. Too much praise it would be ha’J to give to those whose patient training has made it possible to give such a treat to Inglewood., all by Inglewood amateurs. The public certainly owe them a heavy debt of thanks. A repetition of the programme has been decided on for Saturday afternoon, an opporiunity not to be missed.
