PLAGUE IN SYDNEY.
ONE CASE DISCOVERED. RESULT OF THE DIAGNOSIS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received Dec. 1, 10.10 p.m. Sydney, Dec. 1. The health authorities announce that the illness from which the Sussex Street suspect is suffering has been definitely diagnosed as plague. His condition is serious. The patient resided at Glebe, but in the authorities’ opinion became infected at his business premises in Sussex Street, or the vicinity. Everything is being done to deal with the infection, which may still be present in Sussex Street. Owing to the plague case Sydney has been declared an infected port. Strict precautions are being taken.
