EVERYBODY’S. LAST NIGHT OF “A SMALL TOWN IDOL.” The super comedy eight reel special. "A Small Town Idol." received a great reception last night. Mack Sennett has presented feature comedy before, but where he eclipses his previous achievements is in the manner of assembling ail the tried and- true melodrama and the farm stuff, the bathing girls, or a burlesque on an old time favorite, are some big sets which would do credit to any big production, and the players who have made his comedies famous, Ben Turpin, Marie Provost, Phyllis Haver, and Charles Murray, make a rich quartette, and they are ably supported by others equally well known. “A Small Town Idol” has enough material for a dozen two-reel comedies, all of which has been boiled down to the essence of comedy and compressed into eight compact. rapidly moving reels of almost uninterrupted mirth. Patrons should reserve at Collier’s for to-night. COMING TO-MORROW. “ROBBERY UNDER ARMS.” To-morrow and Thursday the great Australian production, “Robbery Under Arms,” will be shown at Everybody’s, and nothing better than “Robbery Under Arms” has been produced in Australia for a long time. In making Rolf Eoldrewood’s story into a photoplay, the Australian producer has achieved something more than mere success. He is to be credited with a veritable triumph. As thousands of Australasian readers will know, the tale of Captain Starlight, of Dick and Jim Marsden, and of the devoted women who cruelly suffered for the men’s misdeeds, contains nothing that can be construed into a glorification of crime; for its theme is the tragedy of wrongdoing and the bitter expiation of lawless acts. The season is limited to two nights, and as there is certain to be a big demand for seats intending patrons should reserve at Collier's without delay. Supporting “Robbery Under Arms'* each evening there will be a six-reel__feature, “Barefisted Gallagher.” a mile-a-minute story, featuring Bill Desmond. THE PEOPLE'S. PEARi.' WHITE IN “THE MOUNTAIN WOMAN.” “The Mountain Woman,” a Pearl White star picture, produced by William Fox from Charles Neville Buck’s novel, “A Pagan of the Hills.” opens to-night at the People’s. In this picture Miss White is seen among the timbered hills of Kentucky, as the daughter of a Kentucky mountain woodman. She fills the role admirably—as, indeed, she does . every role she undertakes. She is seen as “Alexander McGivens,” who has been reared as a boy and whose wild beauty excites the love of all men and the disI dain of the women. Charles Giblyn was i the director of the picture. In the cast are Corliss Giles, Richard Travers, J. Thornton Baston, and other screen notables. The bill includes a big Sunshine comedy, “The Meal Ticket.” and Fox gazettes. This bill • concludes to-mor- • row night.
