DISTRICT NEWS.
RAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Methodist Church was crowded on Sunday afternoon, it being tte Sunday school anniversary service. The Rev. Harkness preached a very interesting sermon for the children, who sang particularly well. Master George Buttler read the first and Miss Ata Kahui the second lesson, while little Miss Vera Billing recited the Commandments. The prizes were presented to 'those who had made very regular attendance. Little Miss D. Andrews received a special prize for the highest marks. There was a large congregation at the evening service, although some of the little ones were absent. The Anglican fancy fair on December 1 should be a great success. The programme is exceptionally good. Should a fine day be our luck Rahotu will be quite a busy centre, as it is sale day too. Thirteen candidates are being presented for confirmation on Monday evening. The Bishop will conduct the service. Miss Elsie Hopkins, suffering from a poi- ( soni.u-, huger, has been removed to a private hospital, and we hope to see her home again soon. The many friends of Mrs. Robertson will be pleased to see her looking so well. She is spending a short holiday here before returning to her home in Sydney. Miss Rita Jaunieson is staying among her friends for a few weeks. The Rahotu bowlers were unable to meet Manaia last Saturday. It rained so much just when thej' were starting on the journey.
