FREEZING INDUSTRY.

GISBORNE WORKS TO OPEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. The freezers’ aw’ard is awaited with interest. On Monday of last week the works opened, but tiiere was no labor. To-night the union held a meeting, at wliich four hundred were present, and the secretary was instructed to notify the companies that the men were prepared to accept work as soon as the works opened, and that a protest would be made against several clauses of the award. The works will probably open on Wednesday.
