FARMERS’ CO-OP. REPORT. * The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of N.Z., Ltd., report as under for the week ending November 26 :—■ At Opunake on Monday we had a medium yarding. The number of well-grown yearling heifers forward was insufficient to meet the demand, consequently there was a particularly good sale for this class of stock. Other classes sold at late rates. Store cows 2Cs io 38s, yearling Jersey bulls .'j’z&gns to £6 10s, 2-year Jersey cross heifers £5 10s, yearling medium quality ditto £6 2s, Holstein and Shorthorn yearling heifers £2 10s to £4 2s thl. smaller 29s to £2 7s 6d, yearling steers Ils, dairy heifers £7 10s to £9 10s, calved ditto £5, cows to £B. On Tuesday at Stratford we bad a good entry of young cattle, and a. satisfactory clearance was affected. Jersey cross yearling heifers made to £7 15s, smaller £4 ’ss to £6, Holstein heifers to £3 19s, fat cows £4. 18s, store cows 25s to £2. On the same day, at Manaia, we had a medium entry. Pedigree Berkshire sows made 3gns, store pigs £2 to £2 7s 6d, slips 25s to 30s, suckers to 12s, fat cows to £5 17s, forward cows £2 to £3, others 20s to 355, Jersey springing heifers £5 15s, springing heifers £5, bulls for export 30s to £2. On Wednesday at Inglewood, owing to the rough weather, the advertised number of catjle did not come forward. However, we had a fair yarding, the whole of which changed hands, with the exception of a few fat cows. Four-year-old store bullocks (off hills) £3 19s, 3-year ditto £2 17s, mixed aged ditto ■2ss, small Jersey cross yearling heifers £2 7s Cd. other breeds 35s to £2, dairy heifers £5 to £6. fat cows to £3 19s, store cows tn 355, yearling Jersey bulls, small, 3 to sgns. WAIKATO MARKET. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report:— At Hamilton on Thursday, November 24, we had a good yarding of all classes of stock, most of which was disposed of. Competition for beef showed an improvement on last week, and all lots submitted were cleared. Best steers made to £S 10s, lighter weights £6 to £6 19s, best cows to £4, lighter sorts £2 to £2 17s 6d. Bidding for store cattle generally was no better than the recent sales, though vendors were in all cases anxious to quiet. Three-year steers, medium quality, made from £2 13s to £2 17s 6d, 2-yenr empty heifers to £4, yearlings from 30s to £2; values in this class still continue to decline. Jersey • bulls, 15-months, sold from £7 5s to £B. Dairy cows, for which there was a limited market, from £7 to £9, heifers £5 10s to £7. The market for pigs was again weaker, although most of the offering was disposed of. Baconers made to £3 4s, porkers 32s 6d to £2 10s, slips 17s 6d to 273 6d. weaners 5s to 14s.
