FRONTIERSMEN FOREGATHER

ANNUAL dinner of paritotu TROOP. A most enjoyable gathering took place at the Kawiaroa Park bungalow, New Plymouth, last evening, when the annual dinner of the Paritutu Troop, L Squadron, of Frontiersmen took place. Some 80 members were present, representing North Taranaki, Ati Awa (Urenui), Egmont (Okato), Parihaka (Rahotu) and Stratford. Troop Leader Bertrand presided and there were also at the official table Colonel Weston (officer commanding the L Squadron), Captain McDiarmid (president of the Returned Soldiers’ Association), Messrs. G. A. Ad lam (Taranaki veterans), McPherson (South African veterans) ’and Major Sandford (Scouts). Among others, apologies were received from Archdeacon Evans, President De Launay (South African veterans), the Awakino troop and ex-President A. R. Standish. After dinner a lengthy toast list was honored. A full report is held over.
