McLaren (tire Lancashire player who captained the English team on many occasions), spea'king at the Ashtead Club dinner, said he agreed with Armstrong that English county cricket had become to a large extent commercialised, but he was confident that English cricket was better than in Australia or any other TEAMS FOR TO-DAY. The following will represent the New Plymouth B grade team against Urenul at the Racecourse No. 3 ground to-day, at 1.45 p.m.: R. Oliver, J. Vale, Bower, Osborne, O. Kinsella, B. Higgins, W. N. Stephenson, W. L. Hughes, C. H. Stephenson, E. Andrew’s, Trevalla. Reserves: Johnson, Thomas, M. Hughes, F. Sheppard, Giles. The following will represent the Old Boys’ A grade team to play Waitara, on racecourse, at 1.45 p.m. sharp: Bottrill, Billing, Osborne, Monteath, Willis, Hine, Bewley, Quilliam, Papps, Eggleton, Greiner. following will represent the Old Boys’ B team to play Technical School on the racecourse No. 2 ground: Burton, Hawkins, Crapper, Coleman, Rea, .Tillett, McLachlan, McConnell, Daile, Hoffmann, Pellew. Emergency : Bracegirdle. The following will play for Western Park A against Inglewood, at Western Park to-day: H. B. Gray, R. B. Macdonald, G. Dinniss, 0. Scrivener, C. Fairbrother, V. Halley, S. Palmer, A. B. Macdonald, V. Elliott, H. W. Stevens, 0. Clarke. Reserve, A. Russell. The following will represent Stratford today in a match against Midhirst, at Stratford, commencing at 2.30 p.m.: Gibbon, R. Looker, C. Massey, Jamieson, Ritchie, Cameron, Tocker, Condon, Windeler, Brandon, Beere. Emergencies: Moffatt, Harris. On Thursday Stratford will again, meet Midhirst at Stratford, in a competition match.
