MAGISTRATE’S COURT. YESTERDAY’S SITTING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Nov. 23. A sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held to-day, Mr. A. M. Mowlem. S.M.. presiding, and a short civil list was dealt with. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases: The Commissioner of Taxes v. Albert Mcßeth, £lO 4s, costs £1 8s; W. J. Byrne v. J. Mischefski, £45, costs £4 15s Gd; George Gudgeon v. C. E. Seaoright (balance of claim), Ils, costs 18s; The State Advances Superintendent v. Har- [ old V. Simons, £24 5s 6d,» costs £2 10s. I Application was made by T. Ridland i for an order against W. I. Thomason on i a judgment summons for the payment of £lOO 19s. There was no appearance of debtor. On behalf of the judgment creditor. Mr. H. J. Thomson stated that the claim was made for a loan which Thomason had obtained some time ago. After repeated attempts to get the money the creditor took judgment against debtor eighteen months back. An order was made for the payment uf the amount forthwith, in default three months’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as debtor pays thfe sum of £lO per month off the claim, the first instalment to be paid on December 23, and thereafter on the 23rd of every month until the amount of the judgment debt and costs is paid. Solicitor’s fee £B 3s was allowed to the creditor. During the sitting His Worship intimated that the representations recently made by Inglewood practitioners for the alteration of the court days from Wednesdays (this being the local sale day) were receiving consideration in drawing up the next quarter’s fixtures. The next sitting of the court will be held on Monday, January 16.
