Or der» for papers may also be left with them. MUSICAL SOCIETY. * November '23. The third concert of the Stratford Musical Society was held in the Stratford Town Hall last night. The concert was considered different from the last effort of the society, 'and the presence of Miss ’Teresa McEnroe, of Wellington, was an added attraction. The society was heard to advantage in a number of choruses and selections, chief of which was the first item after the interval, a gypsy scena in costume, depicting the wander lust of the romantic Romany race. The singing of “Gypsy Life” in this act was very good, Miss Teresa McEnroe sang charmingly “Songs My Mother Taught Me” (Dvorak), “A Birthday” (Caven), and “Spring’s Awakening” (Sanderson). Her re-appearance to-night will be heartily welcomed. By request the society sang that beautiful old ballad “Love’s Old Sweet Song.” A distinct departure from the previous concert was a graceful and pretty solo dance by Miss Rita Grubb. Other items were rendered in good style. For tonight a different programme will be presented, and there will be an added attraction in the appearance of the Hawera Male Quartette. The scholarship and public service and intermediate examinations at Stratford will not be put off on account of the show, but will take place as previously indicated. During Show Week you not miss the opportunity of getting some of those splendid shilling writing pads from Wilson Bros., Stationers, Stratford The cabinets of notepaper and envelopes at 1/6 and 1/9 will probably interest you too. Ask to see them. Don’t forget the address—opposite P.A.C. Auction Mart.
