BANK MANAGER’S DEATH. By Telegraph —Press Association. Gisborne, Nov. 22. A body seen floating in the Waimata River by a hoy this morning has -been identified as that of Samuel Jarvis M‘Cormack, manager of the Bank of Australasia- The body has a severe gash in the throat, presumably cut with a slpirp instrument. MX’ormaek retired as -usual last night and has been in the habit of rising early to garden and was not missed till He had been recently suffering from influKILLED WHILE MOTORING. Blenheim. Nov. 22. James Johnston, aged 55, publie health inspector for Marlborough, was killed in a motor accident last light on the Picton Road near Tuamarina. The car was driven by N. M’Artney. A Royal Insurance inspector overtook the motor in a cycle and side-car near the Para swamp, and. in an endeavor to pass this, M’Artney failed to keep to the road, and the car overturned, pinning the occupants underneath. M’Artney was practically uninjured but Johnston was hurt about the head and must have died almost immediately. An hour elapsed before the car could' be lifted from the body.
