London, Nov. 20. A provisional agreement, subject to a ballot of the workers, has been reached between the National Employers’ Federation and the Amalgamated Engineers’ Union. The agreement provides that a trade union should not interfere with the right of employers to exercise managerial functions in their own establishments, and the federation shall not interfere with the proper functions of a trade union. SOUDAN REBELLION. Khartoum, Nov. 20. Later advices of the. fighting at Nyala, Southern Darfur, show that after the death Of the European leaders the native officers defeated and drove out the rebels and occupied the main defences. STINNES BUYS COAL. London, Nov. 20. It is reported at Cardiff that Herr Stinnes is endeavoring to revive his pre-war business in Welsh coal. It is understood that a considerable quantity of coal has recently been bought on account of the Stinnes concerns, and several cargoes shipped to Italy to the depots which Herr Stinnes controls. ANTI-RED REVOLT. Helsingfors, Nov. 19. The Karelian peasantry are defeating the Bolsheviks. Having already captured four towns they are marching southward. The leaders offer to negotiate with the Soviet Government, conditionally on a National Assembly being convoked and Karelia cleared of foreign troops. VOYAGE OF THE QUEST. London, Nov. 20. The Quest has visited St. Paul’s Rock and satisfactorily completed her scientific work. She is due at Rio de Janiero on November 22.
